Veliko Tarnovo & Arbanasi Tour

We will begin our one-day tour with meeting our guide and transfer to Veliko Tarnovo, THE MEDIEVAL CAPITAL OF BULGARIA.

The city had its golden age between XII and XV century, when it was the center of orthodox Christianity and the powerful Bulgarian empire. Here lay the imposing palace of the Bulgarian Emperors and the Patriarchal Cathedral, both surrounded by thick medieval walls. During the visit of the old town you will be able to see the Baldwin’s Tower, The Patriarchal Cathedral of the Holy Ascension of God, the rock of executions and much more.

While you are enjoing a great view of the Fortress you will have a time to take some great photos before you set on a climb to Baldwin's Tower and the top of the medieval hill - the Patriarchal Church of Tsarevets

 You will take a stroll over Samovodska Charshia Street where you will be able to buy small hand made souvenirs to remind you of your exciting trip as well.

We will continue the tour with the village of Arbanassi to visit one of the most spectacular Bulgarian Churches- the 16th century Nativity Church with over 2000 biblical frescoes inside. Take a stroll in the peaceful streets of Arbanassi to discover the architectural traditions of the 18-19th century. Visit Konstantsaliev house, built in the 17th century, nowadays a museum, presenting the Bulgarian lifestyle during this period.

Transfer back to Ruse.
